Manipur a victim of India's colonial rule, says UNLF

IMPHAL: Proscribed militant outfit United National Liberation Front ( UNLF ), ahead of its 54th anniversary on Saturday, accused New Delhi of subjecting the people of Manipur to "political and economical subjugation' for a long time.The annual statement issued to the media by UNLF on Friday stated that New Delhi has exercised a "colonial hold upon our lives" which has taken a heavy toll on Manipuri society.The outfit also accused New Delhi of trying to convert Manipur University (MU) into a hub of "Indianization and Hindutva" ideology.
