'Ballot fest' held in Churachandpur district

About 3,000 personnel attended the briefing and awareness on EVM/VVPAT. IMPHAL: Gearing up for the coming Lok Sabha polls, two state-level committees have been formed by the Manipur government even as a 'ballot fest' was held in Churchandpur district .The state will go to the polls on April 11 for the Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency covering the hill districts and on April 18 for the Inner Manipur seat in the valley districts.The State Level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) - the new committee constituted by the government - consists of seven members led by the state chief electoral officer (CEO) PK Singh as chairman and additional CEO T Ranjit Singh as member secretary.Meanwhile, a two-day 'ballot fest' organised by DEO, Churachandpur, kicked off at the community hall in the Kuki-Chin-Mizo dominated district which falls under Outer Manipur seat.
