Manipur: N Biren Singh leaves for Delhi to finalize candidates

IMPHAL: Manipur CM N Biren Singh and state BJP president K Bhabhananda on Friday air flew out to New Delhi to finalize the party's nominees for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. "The national-level parliamentary board headed by party president Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting on Saturday to discuss the nationwide pre-poll strategies and also to finalize the party party candidates for some of the states, including Manipur. "The names of the candidates will be announced by Saturday or Sunday, after which the official poll campaign will begin," he added. "After holding a meeting with the party's state election committee, the chief minister, the party president and some senior leaders including ministers left Imphal for New Delhi today with a list of possible candidates for both the Lok Sabha seats," Manipur unit BJP treasurer Robin Blackie told TOI.
