IMPHAL: Chief minister N Biren Singh said on Thursday his government has already earmarked a budget of Rs 35 crores under the 'Startup India' initiative to encourage local entrepreneurs. Biren said the 'Startup India' campaign launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi plans to improve states' economy, thereby making the states self-reliant. The CM was speaking at the launch of a Romi Industries shoe showroom at Kwakeithel area in Imphal West. He said "We shouldn't only have a commercial or profit-oriented view, but also need to work towards the welfare and prosperity of the state. The campaign is also directed at creation of jobs for the unemployed youth of the country, he added.Urging the unemployed youths of the state to become job creators instead of job seekers, Biren said they should not only want white collar jobs.
