IMPHAL: Chief minister Biren Singh on Wednesday said his government will consult the Centre about Myanmarese prisoners , including Rohingya Muslims, who are languishing in Imphal jail even after their jail terms expired.There are 22 inmates from Myanmar who are in Sajiwa central jail in Imphal East . "We will consult with the Centre, particularly the external affairs ministry , about deporting the Myanmarese prisoners whose jail terms have already expired," Biren told TOI. Of them, 10 are Rohingya Muslims from the Rakhine state, who have been suffering in confinement after Myanmarese authorities refused to take them in. He added, "The state will act according to the directives of the external affairs ministry." Nine of them have been in prison since 2012, and one from 2014.
