INDORE: Crime branch police on Thursday arrested a woman, her husband and brother for allegedly strangulating her friend and throwing the body on Indore-Nemawar road.The body of a 40-year-old woman was found at a farm near Bawaliya village on February 18. During preliminary investigation, it was found to be a case of murder and there were signs on her neck which showed that she was strangulated to death and the body was dumped by the killer there.She was later identified through social media as Sangeeta, wife of Chandrashekhar Lashkari , resident of Chouhan Nagar near Pipliyahana square in Indore.The body was handed over to family members after postmortem examination at MY Hospital.During initial investigation, Sangeeta’s daughter who had recently tied knot with her lover and her friend Madhu , were under the police radar.They later came to know that Sangeeta was at her friend Madhu’s place before she went missing. Madhu was detained and during sustained questioning she accepted committing the crime along with her husband and cousin.Madhu told police that she had borrowed Rs 3,000 from Sangeeta at 15% interest in 2013 and took Rs 15,000 and Rs 25,000 at 10% interest on two different occasions. Madhu had already paid Rs 1 lakh including the principal amount but Sangeeta was demanding Rs 1,20,000 as interest from her. She had also thrashed her on several occasions for the money. Irked over the constant harassment, Madhu called Sangeeta to her home and told her that her uncle would provide money.“They took her towards Khudel area where she was strangulated by Madhu, her husband Mukesh and cousin Dharmendra Rawat. They then threw her body by the roadside,” said Vahini Singh , ASP.She added that Madhu owns a beauty parlour and had asked for a loan from Sangeeta to buy some products.Sangeeta is survived by a daughter whereas Madhu and Mukesh have a seven-year-old son.
