Indore: Banganga police station in charge and CSP have filed a criminal revision petition against the contempt notice , which they have received for non-payment of Rs17 lakh seized from two women’s house raided by them.The special court here on May 9 had ordered the Banganga police station in charge and CSP to return the money seized by them from two women under Sections 451 and 457 of Criminal Procedure Code. The women were arrested in January under the NDPS Act. The police during the raid had seized five kilograms of cannabis and Rs.17.74 lakh from the house of Maya and Sangita.The accused had then submitted before the court that the money had not been from the cannabis trade but from selling their property. The money was needed for paying the fees of her son, but the police seized it during the raid.After the two women were granted bail, the special court for NDPS at Indore had directed the police to return the money to the accused women as per law.“The court had passed the order on May 9. But when after ten days they did not return the money, a contempt of court petition was filed before the same court.
