Indore: Stressing on having a nutrition-rich diet during pregnancy, Governor Anandiben Patel on Wednesday asked the expecting mothers belonging to below poverty line (BPL) families to spend the money provided to them by government on their health.Patel, who visited Kashipuri anganwadi centre, spent an hour and interacted with women and children enrolled there. She advised pregnant women to have a healthy food and include fruits in their diet. She also urged women not to feed their newborn babies through bottles and emphasised on feeding their milk to the child to at least six months of their birth.The children recited poems and patriotic songs to the Governor. She distributed fruits among them.Later, she visited MY Hospital and took stock of neonatal intensive care unit, bone marrow transport unit and gynecology ward. Patel also interacted with patients and took feedback about the medical services being offered to them.She gave required instructions to MGM College dean Dr Sharad Thora and superintendent Dr VS Paal regarding better management of the facility before leaving the spot. Collector Nishant Warwade and other senior administrative officials were present on the occasion.
