AAI to Rs125 cr to health department

“Our aim is to improve free transportation facility for women in need. “The department already runs around 11 Janani Express ambulance for women in need, and this assistance would help us increase the number of ambulances,” he said, adding that they have sought permission from the state government to accept this assistance from AAI. Indore: The number of ambulance for pregnant women in city is expected to increase with Airport Authority of India ( AAI ) planning to provide a financial assistance of Rs1.25 crore to district hospital authorities.Indore airport director Aryama Sanyal said that this fund will be released by AAI under its CSR initiative for procurement of ambulance for women in need.“We had earlier sent a proposal in this regard to the headquarters to make arrangements to provide vehicles to ferry women in need to nearest hospital or maternity centre,” she said, adding that the proposal has got nod from AAI and a total sum of Rs1.25 crore would be released in name of district health department for procurement of ambulances.She further said that they are estimating to provide at least five ambulances with all emergency medical facilities to meet any immediate need of expectant women.
