Indore: The employees involved in duping American nationals by calling them up stating that their social security card was blocked and demanding money to restore it, were working on a commission and incentive basis and received a handsome payment for duping as many people as possible in a particular day.Lasudia police learnt about it while interrogating the two arrested accused in the crime. Because of high incentives given on per person duped, the employees made sure that the entire fraud was not disclosed before anyone.“Interrogation with the accused Vatsal Mehta and Karan Bhatt are on. They are on police remand till August 20. They told us that for duping one US national, the employees were given incentives as high as Rs 10, 000,” Lasudia police station in charge Santosh Dudhi said.Lasudia police had on Tuesday busted a call center, where the workers were found to be duping US nationals over phone calls by fraudulently acquiring their social security number through dark net. The accused duped scores of American nationals of crores of rupees ranging from $500 to $4,000 per person.
