Rajwada lights up with Independence Day celebrations

For the past 22 years, city's iconic Rajwada has been ringing in Independence Day celebrations amidst great pomp and splendour. Though the palace is shut and under construction right now, yet nothing stopped the revelry of 71st Independence Day celebration from taking off. Around 10 PM at night, Indoreans gathered at the heart of the city to join in for midnight celebration. Until the countdown, there were back to back cultural performances which kept the audience entertained and hooked to it.Renowned dancer from the city Balvir Singh Kushwah presented some enthralling dance performances with his crew. Prominent among these however, was the group performance by aurally challenged and mute group of individuals, who had prepared their dance a month in advance, under the direction of their teacher.

The heritage structure which is going through a major renovation still glittered in tricolour . Around 10 PM at night, Indoreans gathered at the heart of the city to join in for midnight celebration. Until the countdown, there were back to back cultural performances which kept the audience entertained and hooked to it.Renowned dancer from the city Balvir Singh Kushwah presented some enthralling dance performances with his crew. The performance was made more engaging due to the grand props that the team made. The patriotic numbers made the evening enthralling for the crowd. There were also group dances by various dance crews in the city. Prominent among these however, was the group performance by aurally challenged and mute group of individuals, who had prepared their dance a month in advance, under the direction of their teacher. It brought not just inspiration but solidarity among those gathered towards inclusion of all kinds of people. At the stroke of midnight, the performers, audience and organisers gathered together to cut a huge cake to mark the 71st anniversary of I-day.
