Indore: Crime branch police have arrested a group of four people who are suspected to be involved in illegal arms dealing. Police have seized four pistols and live cartridges from their possession.A team of crime branch police recently received a tip-off about a suspect from Lalbagh, Dhar after which the team kept a watch on his activities. The cops later arrested Mehar Singh, a resident of Dhar, from Bhawarkuan police station area of city on Saturday when he was supplying a pistol and live cartridge.During questioning, Mehar admitted of having sold firearms to some people in Indore. He also revealed that apart from the state, his friends and he were active in supplying firearms to states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.Following Mehar’s lead, the police further nabbed Piyush alias Vicky Chouhan and recovered a pistol and live cartridge from his possession. Chouhan had bought the pistol from Mehar to kill one of his neighbours over a personal dispute. Later, the team arrested two friends of Piyush, Tarun Chouhan and Naresh and recovered firearms from each one of them.Mehar is a prime accused in the case. All the four have been booked under sections 25 & 27 of Arms Act.
