Khargone: The 5th CISF Inter-Sector Athletics Championship , 2018, started at Hameer Ground of RTC in Barwaha on Monday.Eighteen track and field events including, race, long jump, high jump, javelin throw and discus throw will be organised during the four-day championship. As many as 200 players from 10 sectors of CISF have participated in the championship. The championship will conclude on September 13.On this occasion, DIG (RTC) Barwaha, Hemraj Gupta said sports make a person physically and mentally strong. “Sports give us the strength to face problems and to move towards achieving our goals with team spirit. Sports also play an important role in security forces. In order to perform their duties successfully, it is necessary for security personnel to be physically and mentally fit,” he said.Highlighting the need of sports activities, Gupta said, “Apart from training, sports activities are organised at unit-level, inter-unit-level and inter-sector-level in security forces. Sports events are organised from time to time in CISF so that the personnel can keep their fitness at high-level. Selected players from such championships also get opportunity to showcase their talent at national & international level and bring laurels to the country and the CISF.”
