Madhya Pradesh 9footlong crocodile crawls into police outpost

For several years, crocodiles make it a point to visit the outpost at least once every six months.On Sunday night, a crocodile was spotted near the outpost. There is a temple just near the dam where crocodiles reach easily and from there they take a road to the outpost. "Monu Ahirwar, a resident, said: "We have many photographs and videos of crocodiles as every month a crocodile is spotted somewhere around. Around six months ago, a crocodile had come near the outpost. We get an alert regarding the reptile as a few dogs in the area start barking after seeing the crocodile.

BHOPAL: This Ratibad police station's outpost at Bhadbhada dam had a surprise visitor on Sunday night. He was not any top cop or a political bigwig, but a nine-foot-long crocodile.It may be hard to believe but the crocodiles' love for the police outpost is interesting. For several years, crocodiles make it a point to visit the outpost at least once every six months.On Sunday night, a crocodile was spotted near the outpost. As soon as the alarm was raised, several residents of nearby area gathered at the spot and started recording video and clicking pictures of the reptile. Before forest flying squad could reach the spot, the FRV and Dial 100 police team arrived and sent the reptile back to the water body with the help of batons and sticks.Devendra Thakur, a cop at the outpost, said: "Spotting a crocodile is not a new thing for us as every six months a crocodile crawls up near the outpost and is often found besides the gate. We get an alert regarding the reptile as a few dogs in the area start barking after seeing the crocodile. There is a temple just near the dam where crocodiles reach easily and from there they take a road to the outpost. Around six months ago, a crocodile had come near the outpost. When we were trying to send him back in water, he jumped and hurt his leg. Later we called a flying squad which rescued it and took it to Van Vihar for treatment."Monu Ahirwar, a resident, said: "We have many photographs and videos of crocodiles as every month a crocodile is spotted somewhere around. However, the outpost seems to be crocodile's favourite spot."
