Two held for illegally ferrying 6 cattle

INDORE: Mandsaur police seized a loading vehicle ferrying cattle secretly by keeping them under sacks of green chilli late on Saturday.Sub-inspector at Mandsaur Kotwali police station, Gopal, was going home on Ratlam road when he saw a pickup vehicle coming from wrong side. They have told us about the people from whom they had purchased the calves. We are yet to question them,” said Gopal. He stopped the vehicle and spoke to driver. Several sacks containing green chilli were then placed on top of these sticks because of which the calves could not be seen.Police said that the cattle were sent to cow shed, whereas two accused were arrested and booked under relevant sections of the IPC.“Both the accused are residents of Multanpura.

The reaction of the driver raised suspicion about his motive following which he asked for registration papers of the vehicle and checked the vehicle only to find the calves stashed inside.The accused had modified the loading vehicle in such a way that six cattle were made to stand and wooden sticks were laid on top of them. Several sacks containing green chilli were then placed on top of these sticks because of which the calves could not be seen.Police said that the cattle were sent to cow shed, whereas two accused were arrested and booked under relevant sections of the IPC.“Both the accused are residents of Multanpura. They have told us about the people from whom they had purchased the calves. We are yet to question them,” said Gopal.
