500 Simhastha security guards to become constable

This shortage will be solved with appointment of 550 candidates, who had served as security guards during Ujjain Simhastha-2016 and hail from 24 districts of five divisions of the state, in next two months. “Coordination among the agencies concerned is required to get the desired results. Indore: MP Home Guard, Civil Defence, and Disaster Management have decided to appoint 550 candidates, who served as security guards during Ujjain Simhastha-2016, as constables under SDERF on deputation.“Against sanctioned 132 posts under State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF) across the state, less than 100 seats of constables for ground work are filled. Lack of coordination among SDERF, NDRF, local police and other concerned department is felt” Sagar said.The lack of coordination among them was witnessed after a decades-old building of a hotel collapsed near Sarwate bus stand on March 31, this year. The rescue operation had allegedly ended-up killing more persons.“To solve this problem, officials concerned should meet at control room-cum-coordination centre at Bhopal to establish better coordination,” the DG said.He added that in their bid to fix responsibility in death due to falling into borewell or the abandoned mines, the department has lodged complaint against owners under section 304-A of IPC.

In next stage, more appointment of the eligible candidates among the remaining 2240 candidates will be carried out based on their fulfilling the selection criteria,” director general Mahan Bharat Sagar told TOI.He added that SDERF is over-equipped with tools and arms required to deal with flood, building collapse or any other emergency situation and appointment on the said posts will help in further strengthening the department.The DG feels that there is lack of coordination among SDERF, NDRF, local police and other agencies concerned in carrying out rescue operations in case of emergencies. “Coordination among the agencies concerned is required to get the desired results.
