Toy car explodes mysteriously injuring boy in MP's Ujjain district

INDORE: A toy car , found in a bag left behind my an unknown person in a four-wheeler garage , exploded in Barnagar town of Ujjain district causing injuries to a 14-year-old boy on hands and legs on Wednesday.The boy had put the batteries in the toy car seconds before the explosion took place. He is reported out of danger.Police were in the process of ascertaining the identity of the man who left behind the bag in the garage. Some screws of the car were loose, thus he tightened them. Experts are trying to ascertain the material,” said sub-divisional officer of police (Barnagar) Sher Singh Bhuria.Panwar, who is a four-wheeler mechanic, runs the garage on the ground floor of his house.

The blast raised strong suspicion that the toy carried material that exploded soon after the electricity current circuit was completed after the battery was placed.The incident took place at the garage of one Gajendra Singh Panwar in Morwal Colony at around 11am. But the police received information about the nature of the blasts in late hours prompting a team of bomb detection and disposal squad and the anti-terrorism squad to rush to the spot and start a probe.“We are not sure about the nature of the explosion as of now. Experts are trying to ascertain the material,” said sub-divisional officer of police (Barnagar) Sher Singh Bhuria.Panwar, who is a four-wheeler mechanic, runs the garage on the ground floor of his house. On Tuesday, when he had gone out for some work, someone had placed the bag containing the toy car and popcorn.His son, Rajveer alias Bhanu, had pointed the bag, but Panwar was of the notion that the owner will come back searching for it.On Wednesday, Rajveer curiosity peaked and he opened the bag to find the toy card packed neatly in a packet. Some screws of the car were loose, thus he tightened them. The toy car contained sockets for three batteries. Two batteries were in place.The boy took a battery from the wall clock and placed it in the empty socket, the SDOP said adding as soon as he placed the car on the ground and attempted to move it, the toy exploded causing injuries to his hand and leg.Rajveer was rushed to a hospital where he underwent surgeries. He is reported out of danger.Police were in the process of ascertaining the identity of the man who left behind the bag in the garage.
