INDORE: After primary investigation launched by Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), the team of experts said that short-circuit and overheating of tailpipe might have caused the fire in a bus at Niranjanpur bus stop A consolidated investigation report in the incident was submitted by the experts from SGSITS, Cummins India Ltd and Eicher Motors to district administration. " Electric overload , abrasive wear of electric insulation, thermal heating from a micro-controller heat sink might have caused the fire", reads the report.The report states that tailpipe of the exhaust got over heated and it might have caused fire.The team in its report suggested that ammeter, which shows the current flow in AC power cable , should be installed near the front panel of the driver to avoid in buses. The instrument starts beeping indicating to shut the machine when power flows above the prescribed limit.The team also suggested that fire alarm and shutter system can also be installed in the engine compartment. “The bus had completely destroyed in the fire. It was very difficult to establish the actual cause of the incident,” AICTSL CEO Sandip Soni told TOI.He added that Sarco India Private Ltd, which has been assigned the contract of operation and maintenance work, will be issued show-cause notice for showing negligence in maintenance of vehicles as per the terms and conditions. The company will be asked to provide status report of the steps taken, if any, on their part of working.“We will also ask the company that why should not be the loss of Rs 1 crore due to the fire imposed on them,” Soni said.Based on primary report submitted by IMC, the district collector Nishant Warwade has assigned a magisterial probe into the matter to ADM Nidhi Nivedita.
