Narendra Singh Tomar meets lsquoTairsquo amid voices of dissent in BJP over tickets

INDORE: BJP high command on Monday sent Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar and in charge of BJP in Madhya Pradesh Vinay Sahastrabuddhe to hold discussions with Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan and BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya regarding distribution of tickets “Tai (Mahajan) is our senior leader. She was on a foreign trip and therefore, a discussion related to elections with her could not be done. This apart, both senior leaders also want to promote their supporters to get ticket from other assembly seats of Indore Following this, party high command had to put announcement of its candidates from all nine constituencies of Indore district on hold. Therefore, I and Sahastrabuddhe came to meet her,” Tomar told mediapersons outside Mahajan’s residence here at Manishpuri Colony after a 45-minute discussion.He added that selection of candidates at all remaining seats has been completed and list of recommended candidates has been sent to BJP’s central election committee.“The party will soon announce candidates at remaining seats,” said the Union minister while discarding ‘rumours’ that Mahajan is not happy with the ticket distribution process.Earlier in the day, Mahajan, who came from Argentina after attending G-20 Parliamentary Speakers Summit and some other events, reached Mahalaxmi temple near Rajwada and participated in a cleanliness drive.While talking to media-persons, she said, “I have no information about the ticket distribution process and therefore, don’t ask me anything.”Sources said that Vijayvargiya wants a ticket for his son Akash Vijayvargiya from Indore-II by shifting his close aide and MLA Ramesh Mendola to Indore-III while Mahajan wants ticket for her son Mandar Mahajan from this assembly seat.
