Indore: Ahead of wedding season and festive month, demand for traditional and copper vessels have made a comeback by outshining steel and fiber dinner sets at the city’s oldest Bartan Bazaar.According to utensil dealers’ association record, the sale of copper, brass and bronze utensils has jumped by over 15% since the beginning of the year and is likely to rise further when the peak wedding season will start. Indore Bartan Nirmata and Vikreta Sangh president Surendra Mehta said, "This is a new trend that has come into focus. People are enquiring about tradition utensils that were in trend about 20 and more years ago.”Mehta said designer looks on traditional vessels and a rising majority of health conscious people is leading the demand trend.Many traders from Bartan Bazaar said, if not buying, a lot of people are approaching us to enquire about pricing and health benefits of copper and bronze utensils.Traders said, the jump in demand could have been much higher, but less number of weddings and high prices have capped the market.
