Indore: District election officer has issued notice to deputy advocate general of Madhya Pradesh high court at Indore bench after a complaint was made against him regarding violation model code of conduct.Deputy advocate general Pushyamitra Bhargav on November 11 had written a complaint to Election Commission regarding a clause in Congress’s manifesto regarding restricting participation of government employees in shakhas of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Bhargav in his complaint had stated that such a promise in manifesto violated fundamental rights of a government employee to indulge in social activities. No political party can restrict freedom of speech and expression. The complaint was also accompanied by a video by Bhargav repeating the message.Congress spokesperson Narendra Saluja in his complaint to Madhya Pradesh chief election officer had complained that the said letter by a deputy advocate general was in violation of rules of model code of conduct. Saluja had sought action against Bhargav for making such a complaint.Following this, a letter was written by Madhya Pradesh chief election officer to district election officer, and notice was issued to Bhargav by nodal officer, helpline and complaint cell. In reply to the notice and Saluja’s complaint, Bhargav has claimed that he had not violated any guideline of model code since he had not made any vote appeal in his complaint, either in favour of BJP or against Congress.
