Indore: Indore has converted the Swachh campaign into a ‘culture’ thereby giving direction to the entire country, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday.“Swachhata was launched as a campaign. Indore converted it into a culture. Even chaiwalas and pakodawalas are getting benefitted,” said Modi. When it becomes a culture, if flows in every vein and there is no need for a system (administrative) to run it,” Modi said, addressing a jam-packed poll rally at Super Corridor. The Prime Minister, while lauding the cleanest city tag Indore had achieved for two consecutive years, said this could not have been achieved merely by putting in administrative machinery in place; people of Indore have played a vital role in it.“You will not fathom what you have achieved. What you do will change Hindustan,” he said adding the erstwhile rule of Indore, Ahilya Bai Holkar, would be proud of what Indore has achieved.Modi claimed that such achievements would not have been possible during the 35 years of Congress rule in Madhya Pradesh , before BJP wrested the state. In a matter of only two years, Indore has constructed over 1.5 lakh toilets.Modi said India failed to attract world tourism despite having the potential and after independence nothing has been done to promote it.“In last 2 years, tourism is growing at a high pace and every section of society is getting benefited.
