Chadda holds survey on voters' wishlist

INDORE: Going a step ahead in electioneering, Congress candidate from Indore-4 constituency Surjeet Chadda has roped in a group of college students to gather feedback from voters of the constituency.The group of 15 girls has a set of five questions on the basis of which the Congress candidate is trying to identify basic issues of the constituency and also about sitting MLA 's image among voters.This form includes questions like 'how many times the MLA has visited your locality in past five year?', 'what promises were made?', 'how many were fulfilled?', 'what are your demands?', and 'who is your preferable candidate?'.While Chadda during canvassing visits door-to-door and distributes pamphlets about his vision for the constituency, these girls, in separate groups, approach residents after Chadda's visit and collect their feedback based on the set of questions that they have in the questionnaire .Chadda speaking to TOI said that the overall purpose of conducting this research to identify shortcomings of the sitting MLA. "Dispute ruling for decades, the BJP has not been able to fulfil basic demands of the people. With help of this survey, I wish to identify issues that were ignored by the sitting candidate despite repeated demands of the people," he said.An insider of Chadda's group said that the survey is also helping them prepare speech for campaigning and major issues raised by the citizens. "So far we have covered over 15 localities. We are analyzing the responses received from voters to ascertain the amount of effort required to gain support from the people there," he said."After analyzing the responses, we will start working on localities where Congress is less popular as compared to BJP. If required, canvassing would also intensified in such areas," he added. This survey will conclude on the last day of poll campaigning.
