Indore: Crime branch sleuths have on Sunday arrested members of a gang , which was involved in duping petrol pump owners by posing as ASP of the area. The accused were arrested from Karauli area of Rajasthan.Senior police officials said that the gang operated in two groups. While one group would conduct recce of the potential victims and meet them wearing fake uniforms, another group would call up the victim posing as police officials. In this group, confident and intelligent people were recruited, said the police.“All the members of the gang have been identified and arrested. At present, the cops are questioning the accused in Rajasthan,” said DIG Harinarayanachari Mishra.The accused had also attempted to dupe the petrol pump owners in Vijay Nagar, Aerodrome, Palsikar Colony, Gauri Nagar, Manpur and Rajmoholla. But cases were registered only in Vijay Nagar and Aerodrome areas, since the accused made away with money.
