INDORE: Narcotics police on Wednesday arrested two persons from Kishanganj area and seized cannabis worth Rs 1.45 crore from their possession.Mostly school and college students were their customers and female members of their houses were also involved in this illegal trade.Narcotics DIG Mahendra Singh Sikarwar told media persons that they had received a tip-off that some accused had been smuggling cannabis in city from Barwani and distributed it to people and peddlers in smaller portions. Acting on the specific information, a raid was conducted and the accused were followed by two teams of police officials in an auto. They were on their way to Indore from Umariya village of Kishanganj when cops arrested them and seized 145 kg of cannabis from their possession. They were carrying it in a jute sack. The two accused were identified as Pawan Dhiman (32), resident of Badi Gwaltoli, and Ajeet Borasi (24). Dhiman accepted that he had been involved in the trade for past few years and had been working with his accomplice Borasi.The DIG said that Dhiman used to supply drugs in the city in the garb of driving an auto.Police said that a case was registered against the duo.
