INDORE: A petition has been filed before high court seeking ban on sale of acid following a gangrape and acid attack case reported in Dewas district’s Satwas tehsil.The petition filed by gangrape survivor’s father has sought compensation for her. The incident had taken place on November 8, 2018. The 17-year-old girl was on her way home from her shop when two bikers took her with them to a secluded spot. The two accused- one of whom is a minor- raped her. The girl also sustained burns on her hands and feet. The girl claimed that she sustained injuries due to acid attack. The girl regained consciousness next day and came home. She then reported the incident to her parents who rushed her to a hospital. An FIR was lodged on November 8. The girl was admitted to a local hospital for two days after which she was referred to MY Hospital where she has been undergoing treatment for past two months.In the petition filed by her father before the high court, he has alleged that his daughter had been a victim of acid attack and that she must get the due compensation. The family had not received any compensation.“As an interim relief, we have prayed that the girl should be shifted to Bombay Hospital and her treatment must be done properly. We have also sought compensation of Rs 50 lakh and ban on sale of acid,” advocate Shanno Shagufta Khan said. TNN
