ERP ) system will soon be incorporated by the varsity and all the departments including administrative units will start using it.“We have decided to make the varsity completely digitized. We cannot say that the paperwork will be completely removed. However, we are trying to reduce the usage by making whole university working computerized,” said DAVV vice-chancellor N K Dhakad. This will make the work hassle-free and data will be made available even more easily, he added. At present, the varsity uses 250 tonne paper every year. This includes the question papers, answer sheets, and all administrative work which also becomes an issue in terms of taking up the space as most of the paper work has to be maintained for a good number of years.“The proposal has already been passed by the executive council (EC) and we are now planning to implement it in the varsity. While the exams will still be taken on papers, most of the official work will be done through ERP system. There won’t be an issue of papers occupying space,” said Dhakad. The employees have also been encouraged to take some level of computer training and become proficient at handling the system.“While we would be conducting a separate training for the administrative staff. In case if training would be required for other employees to understand the system, we will do that as well,” he added.
