Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan flags off weekly train to Delhi

INDORE: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan flagged off Indore-Delhi Sarai Rohilla Express train on Friday fulfilling the demand of train service between Indore and Delhi.The railways was running a special train on this route, which has now being converted into weekly train service.Mahajan also dedicated newly-launched heritage train service between Dr Ambedkar Nagar and Kalakund railway stations.Indore-Delhi Sarai Rohilla Express (19337) train will leave from Indore at 4:45pm on every Friday and reach Delhi Sarai Rohilla at 10:35am next day via Fatehabad, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch , Chittaurgarh, Bhilwada, Ajmer, Jaipur, Dousa, Alwar and Rewadi. In return, the train will leave from Delhi Sarai Rohilla at 2:30pm on Saturday and reach Indore at 9 am next day.Before flagging off the train, Mahajan hoisted a 100-ft tall tricolour installed by railways at circulating area of the station as part of their plan to provide monumental flag of at least 100-ft height at all the erstwhile 'A1' category stations.Speaking at the function organised at platform number1, Mahajan also announced about the railways’ plans to run weekly train service on Indore-Bikaner and Indore-Gandhidham routes soon.Mahajan said that Indore’s connectivity with Ajmer will be increased with new trains being introduced by the railways. “Indore is now connected with capital of all major states of the country,” she said.Mahajan also made announcement regarding the railways’ decision to increase frequency of Indore-Patna Express (19313/19314) to twice a week and change timing of Indore-Udaipur Veerbhumi Express (19329).She also announced to give a financial aid of Rs15 lakh from MP fund to the railways for increasing passenger amenities at the station.A few hours before commencement of this event, the railways senior public relation officer of Ratlam division Jitendra Kumar Jayant had to be admitted in hospital after he complained of chest pain.
