Indore: Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) will sell space for advertisement hoardings on contract basis through private agencies. “The city will be divided into four parts and separate private agency will be hired to sell space for hoardings independently,” IMC market department official Lokendra Kumar Solanki said. The official said IMC has already started working on this plan. The IMC was seizing over 100 hoardings per day. It had even started lodging complaints against violators under the Madhya Pradesh Sampatti Virupan Nivaran Adhiniyam 1994. A decision in this regard has been taken under new government policy which allows installation of hoardings on unipoles.Civic body officials, however, said that this initiative was a part of outdoor media policy.

Indore: Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) will sell space for advertisement hoardings on contract basis through private agencies. A decision in this regard has been taken under new government policy which allows installation of hoardings on unipoles.Civic body officials, however, said that this initiative was a part of outdoor media policy. “The city will be divided into four parts and separate private agency will be hired to sell space for hoardings independently,” IMC market department official Lokendra Kumar Solanki said. The official said IMC has already started working on this plan. As per the proposal, IMC will first hire private agencies, which will be responsible for selling space in designated areas for installation of hoardings.“The private agency will also have to install unipoles in reserved areas where permission for installation of hoarding will be given,” he said, adding that the entire plan was aimed at streamlining haphazard installation of hoardings, which were causing problems, especially in traffic movement.“The contract will be given for a period of five years and a fixed amount will be collected from agencies, which will be given the contract,” he added. The decision was taken after the civic body failed to solve problem of illegal hoardings in city despite taking action against unauthorised installation of hoardings and banners at public space. The IMC was seizing over 100 hoardings per day. It had even started lodging complaints against violators under the Madhya Pradesh Sampatti Virupan Nivaran Adhiniyam 1994.
