Indore: A 21-year-old Class 12 dropout was arrested by cyber cell sleuths on Monday for duping a man of Rs 70,000 through online transactions.The victim, Ganga Sahay Joshi, had lodged a complaint on November 30, 2018 that Rs 70,000 was debited from his credit card balance without his knowledge. A case was registered on his complain and investigation was initiated, police said.Cyber cell superintendent Ambrish Mishra constituted a team to trace the accused. The cops found that one Rahul Asawra, a resident of Bijalpur Nakka, had withdrawn money from Joshi’s account through online transaction.Police said Rahul transferred the money to his Paytm and MobiKwik applications’ wallets by tricking the complainant to get the OTP.Police have recovered a mobile phone, two ATM cards and two bank passbooks from his possession. Though the accused is a Class 12 dropout, he has knowledge about online transactions. He also took some training to learn tricks to get OTP from an account holder, police said.Police said that they were still searching for his accomplices in the crime. People, who taught him tricks to get OTP, have been also booked.
