Week-long celebration at MCTE

The MCTE , which is alma mater of the signals officers and other ranks, started the celebration on February 10. MCTE Commandant Lt Gen Milind N Bhurke and his wife Geetanjali M Bhurke were guests of the occasion. Mhow: Military College of Telecommunication Engineering has started week-long celebration to mark the 109th Corps Day of Indian Army’s Corps of Signals.Signals corps was raised on February 15, 1911. Lt Gen Bhurke addressed a special Sainik Sammelan at Hermes open air theatre. He highlighted the role of the Signals corps in modernizing the Army into a net centric force.

Mhow: Military College of Telecommunication Engineering has started week-long celebration to mark the 109th Corps Day of Indian Army’s Corps of Signals.Signals corps was raised on February 15, 1911. The MCTE , which is alma mater of the signals officers and other ranks, started the celebration on February 10. It will conclude on Sunday.In past six days, various programmes were organised, wherein officers and jawans took part. On February 10, an action-packed event, Pagal Gymkhana, was organised. MCTE Commandant Lt Gen Milind N Bhurke and his wife Geetanjali M Bhurke were guests of the occasion. A host of activities including, fun races, fancy dress competition, stand-up comedy show were organised on the day.A grand feast, Barakhana, was organised in traditional style for 2500 personnel, including, 200 veterans. Lt Gen Bhurke addressed a special Sainik Sammelan at Hermes open air theatre. He highlighted the role of the Signals corps in modernizing the Army into a net centric force. He also appealed everybody to rededicate themselves in transforming the corps into an enviable force in the areas of communication technology, electronic warfare, cyber operation and artificial intelligence.
