Indore: Culture and medical education minister Dr Vijaylaxmi Sadho on Tuesday said that ‘health’ of Madhya Pradesh was in bad condition (during BJP’s regime) and Congress will improve it as promised in party’s Vachan Patra.“During assembly polls, while other parties released their manifesto, Congress released Vachan Patra. In Indian tradition, making a promise is a big thing and thus, we are bound to fulfil them,” the minister said.When asked about reasons for her ‘relying’ on private hospital before being shifted to AIIMS-Delhi for treatment of her shoulder, a month ago, the minister said, “I have full confidence on doctors of local government hospitals as they are best. Sometimes, however conditions emerged like that.”She said that questions should be asked to finance minister Arun Jaitley for seeking treatment abroad.Dr Sadho said that shortage of doctors in government hospitals will soon be resolved while government is working on deciding salary, conveyance of medical practitioners. She said that work to set up a lab in Indore to test samples in suspected cases of swine flu is underway while admission in four new government-run medical colleges is expected to start by April.The minister reiterated that previous government has not been given clean chit on Vyapam and Mandsaur case. “We had come to power with same issues. An investigation into both cases is underway” she said.During her visit, Sadho held a meeting to review ongoing works in MGM Medical College, purchase of medicines and instructed authorities to improve facilities and services in state’s biggest government-run MY Hospital. Later, she took stock of Ayush department at Indore division level and issued instructions for further improvement. The minister said that vacant posts in Ayush department will soon be fulfilled.
