Indore: People travelling to and from Rajwada area in city buses these days are being treated with a tea, that too for free of cost.A private agency engaged in managing a mobile app service under Atal Indore City Transport Services Limited (AICTSL) is offering tea to all passengers of buses being run by AICTSL.Officials said that the initiative is to promote use of public transport and also discourage ticketless travelling by passengers. “Every passenger who is buying ticket is getting a tea for free of cost. We aim to encourage people to travel with ticket and also to promote use of public transport,” sad Ajay Jat, a staff operating the staff in the area. “We are distributing tea to passengers and they just have to show a ticket for it,” he added. AICTSL operates 20 buses in the area, and 1500 to 2000 passengers travelling in these buses are getting tea for free of cost.Mukesh Jain, one of the passengers, said that it’s a good initiative to promote use of public transport. “People should shun their personal vehicles and opt for city buses. This can solve traffic problem of this area as it remains busy all the time,” he said.Bus operations in Rajwada area had come to a halt after demolition of Jawahar Marg Bridge and subsequent increase in traffic pressure in Rajwada and nearby areas. This had prompted officials to divert buses on this route.
