Industry players all set to help airport take intrsquol leap

Flight connectivity from Indore to major cities of the country has also improved,” she added.Airport officials said that there has been an increase in footfall of over 7.5 lakh fliers at Indore airport within a year. Movement of domestic passengers rose by nearly 33 per cent with 30.05 lakh in 2018 from 22.53 lakh in 2017.

Indore: Extended delay in commencement of international flight operations from Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport seems to have forced airport authorities to reach out to industries to work jointly on identifying major hurdles.There is a significant increase in number of flights as well as passengers on domestic routes in past few years, while none of the airline has so far shown interest in introducing flights on international route.Airport Authority of India (AAI) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Madhya Pradesh are jointly going to host second edition of Connect Madhya Pradesh: Madhya Pradesh Aviation & Tourism Conference in Indore on February 23, 2019.Officials said that this event would focus on improving issues related to aviation connectivity and infrastructure in state. This would also include starting of international flight operations out of Indore and also deliberating on challenges that growth in passenger traffic in coming years would pose on aviation infrastructure of state, they said.Airport director Aryama Sanyal said that they are in process to hold meeting with industries and stakeholders to check viability of international flight operations from Indore. “The airport has in past couple of years seen significant improvements in terms of both passengers’ traffic as well as flight operations.
