Mhow: Indore-Amritsar-Indore Bi-Weekly Express (19325/19326) with five coaches of upgraded rake was flagged off from Indore station on Friday. The rake has been modified at Mhow yard. It has been designed under ‘Project Utkrisht’.A railway official said that the upgraded rake will provide better facilities, including clean and odourless toilets and comfortable coaches, to passengers. The official said that in view of complaints of passengers regarding foul smell in toilets, a venture tube had been fitted below toilet. It had been connected to a duct inside the toilet. When train gains speed and the air moves through the venture tube, strong vacuum develops in the duct because of which air inside the toilet goes out resulting in an odourless toilet. Special epoxy coating has been done on floor of toilets because of which water flows down keeping them neat and clean, he added. The rake also has internal walls covered with polyvinyl chloride sheets having beautiful paintings just like heritage train. They give the coaches a magnificent look. Wash basins made up of white marble and black granite have been installed in the coaches.Besides this, polyurethane paint has been applied on exterior of the rake, due to which it has become more shinning. It will last for at least five years. The rake was to be modified at Indore railway yard, but, due to lack of space the work was carried out at Mhow. The modified coaches were recently put up for display at platform number 3 of Mhow railway station. Soon, 150 more Utkrisht coaches for the trains running from Indore, will be developed.
