Indore: A day after seven employees of private bank in Jawad fell unconscious and a bag containing Rs 5.64 lakh cash went missing from cash counter, police arrested cashier of the bank and his friend for stealing the money. Thereafter, his accomplice Swapnil Vyas reached the bank and took the bag filled with money. He told police that he had stolen the money for his marriage.Neemuch SP Rakesh Sagar said, after a complaint was lodged, cops sifted through CCTV footage. Police have recovered the money and have booked the two accused in theft case.

When they questioned 26-year-old cashier, Ashok Bhatt, he spilled the beans. He admitted to have committed the crime as he was in need of money for his marriage scheduled this year.He revealed that he mixed three sleeping pills in the lunch after which the bank employees fell asleep. Thereafter, his accomplice Swapnil Vyas reached the bank and took the bag filled with money. To avoid any suspicions on him, he put a lizard in water camper.Ashok had a deal with Swapnil that he would give a share of Rs 1 lakh from the stolen money, said the SP. Police have recovered the money and have booked the two accused in theft case.
