Smart Industrial Park gets final touch-up, set to open doors in May

Indore: Smart Industrial Park — the unique selling proposition (USP) of industry department — is likely to be equipped with all basic infrastructure and be ready for industries by May. Other major units that have proposed to set up facilities in the park are Jamna Auto Industries, Rusoma Laboratories Pvt Ltd, Harita Industries and Raajratna Metal Industries. In first phase of land allotment to industries, department is banking on automobile industries to come up because of National Automotive Test Tracks and industrial container depot in the region.Top industries that have bought land in the park are WABCO, Trident Group, Shriram Pistons & Rings among others. Another official from the department said, 10 electric poles will be installed in the park in a fortnight and with this, work of electric connection will get complete.According to department, 6 to 7 industrial units are likely to start construction in next financial year once development work is over. Madhya Pradesh Industry Development Corporation (MPIDC) is aiming to complete infrastructure work related to electric connection and water within two months.A senior official from the department, who did not wish to be named said, “The park will be ready by May for industries. All kind of infrastructure work from our side will be completed by that time.” There were a few issues related to electric connection in the park owing to which installation of electric poles was pending, which is likely to be done in a fortnight. Another official from the department said, 10 electric poles will be installed in the park in a fortnight and with this, work of electric connection will get complete.According to department, 6 to 7 industrial units are likely to start construction in next financial year once development work is over. As of now, department is supplying water from local sources for construction activity in Smart Industrial Park and Narmada water shall be used to meet industrial demand for which pipe lines have already been laid.The industry department has allotted land to 45 industrial units on about 250 acres so far in Smart Industrial Park.The saleable land for industries in park is about 650 acres including industrial, commercial and residential areas and the park is being developed on 1,200 acres of land costing around Rs 323 crore.
