Indore: Red tape is affecting Right to Education ( RTE ) programme this year too as seats of 900 private schools of Indore district have not been locked by block resource coordinators (BRC) till now.Education department had planned to start RTE admission process by March 9.“I have written letter to all BRCs to lock school within three to four days as after the schools are locked, list is sent to district education officer (DEO) for approval,” said district project coordinator (DPC) Akshay Rathore.The affiliation window on portal has already been shut on March 18. However, re-affiliation of schools from department’s end has been taking place and will continue till April 2 and registration procedure of RTE is likely to start from mid-April.“This year 180 new schools have applied for affiliation and remaining are old schools. In my letter to BRCs, I’ve also asked them not to keep the re-affiliation work pending and finish it soon so that registration procedure of RTE starts,” he said.Last year, 1315 schools from Indore district had locked their seats. Out of 26,400 candidates of Indore district, who had applied for 33,000 seats in various schools, 19,804 had won lottery and over 8000 had taken admission. s
