Fire in liquor vend kills 27-year-old employee

A godown behind the liquor shop which had huge stock of liquor also caught fire, shop owner Mahendra Namdev told police.During investigation, police learnt that the liquor shop was not following rules since no fire extinguisher were found at the spot. It claimed life of the liquor shop employee, 27-year-old Chetan, said Bhadoriya adding that Chetan a resident of Khargone, was sleeping inside shop when the incident took place.Goods worth Rs 1.5 crore were reduced to ashes in fire. “We are still investigating the cause of fire and actual losses incurred,” Bhadoriya said. Fire fighters were able to control the blaze in around two hours, Heera Nagar police station in charge Rajeev Bhadoriya said.The fire might have broken out because of a short circuit at the dhaba.
