Indore: Lack of security checks at island platform number 5 and 6 of Indore railway station has made the place a safe haven for criminals.
“No CCTV has been installed at the island platforms, while movement of GRP and RPF personnel is very less in the areas making them vulnerable for unpleasant incidents.
Several cases of crimes, including vehicle lifting, loot and burglary have been reported at the newly developed platforms in past two years. While all four platforms-1, 2, 3 and 4- of the railway station are under 70 CCTVs surveillance, no CCTV has been installed at the island platforms.
Also, auto drivers can be seen walking in freely for passengers at the platforms.
