Indore: Court orders Jitu Soni to be kept in jail by extending judicial custody till 26 August

Jitu Soni, accused of various charges including human trafficking, prostitution, illegal possession, death threats, was produced through video conferencing from jail. The court extended the period of judicial custody to Jeetu and kept him in jail till August 26.

On 28 June 2020, accused Jeetu Soni was arrested by the police from Rajkot in Gujarat. Several cases are registered against him in various police stations of Indore. Jitu was on remand of several police stations till July 31 to inquire about these cases. Later, he was sent to judicial custody by the court till 11 August.

On 30 November 2019 Action was initiated by the administration against Jeetu Soni on the night of 30 November 2019 after the Honey Trap case was published in its newspaper Lokswamy. The police and administration team raided the My Home Hotel at Geeta Bhawan in Soni and recovered 67 women from here. After this, a case was registered against Jitu and others under Palasiya police station under the Human Trafficking and Prevention of Imperial Trafficking Act (Peeta). After this, the Municipal Corporation had demolished the legitimate properties including Jeetu`s illegal hotel.
