Kishore Wadhwani, accused of billions of rupees cigarettes, gutkha tax scam, has got the benefit of bail on a personal bond of Rs 10 lakh from Indore bench of MP High Court. The High Court reserved the verdict after completing the hearing on the bail application. The High Court said in the judgment that after coming out, Wadhwani will not lure or threaten any witness related to this case. Whenever the investigating agency calls for questioning, it has to go. Passport also has to be surrendered. Will not leave the country without permission.

The court of Justice Virendra Singh has issued the bail orders. Wadhwani was represented by senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi. The bail application had mentioned that the arrest had been made for 50 days. The trial program will run longer. Anyway, two accused in this case have already got bail. The place where the factory was named Vishnu Essence is the only owner of the petitioner. He is not a partner of any kind in that firm.

On behalf of DGGI, Additional Solicitor General Vikramjit Banerjee argued that Wadhwani is responsible for the scam. The DGGI has caught several newspaper sticker vehicles, in which pan masala was being supplied. The High Court reserved the verdict after hearing both the sides. On Friday, the court issued a conditional bail order.

Arrested in Mumbai for tax evasion of Rs 233 crore on June 16, Wadhwani was arrested on June 16 from a Mumbai hotel under Operation `Cancer` in a rag of paan masala. His colleagues Sanjay Mata, Vijay Nair, Ashok Daga and Amit Bothra were arrested earlier by the police in the case. In the raids of Pan Masala under the operation, the tax evasion of 233 crores was initially revealed. When the conspiracy of the main conspirator Kishore Wadhwani was targeted, the tax evasion figure had crossed 500 crores.

There was also talk of sending money to Pakistan. In the court, DGGI had revealed that Wadhwani has a Dubai Residence Visa (if there is a reason to stay there, then get this visa). The amount of tax evasion was levied in a hotel in Dubai. Also, there is a link to Pakistani citizen Sanjay Mata, in such a situation, it is feared that tax evasion money was also sent to Pakistan.

The investigation has also revealed that Kishore Wadhwani and his gutkha smuggler gang have profited heavily during the lockdown imposed on the Corona epidemic. During the lockdown, when all activities were closed, these people produced illegal gutkha, paan, masala and cigarettes and supplied them at manifold prices across the country including Maharashtra, Gujarat. This has not only increased the risk of corona infection, but has also contributed to the spread of diseases like cancer.

The department had issued summons to him twice after getting information about Wadhwani from Vijay Nair, an accused caught in the tax evasion case. 64 B and 65 B at the Premnagar house was also not available, then the team reached the other offices of the group, the channel`s office, but it was not found. The Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) had been looking for Wadhwani since the raid that took place between 9 and 12 June.

On Saver Road there is a company named AAA Enterprises, operated by Vijay Nair. Another company Vishnu Essence is run by Ashok Daga and Amit Bothra. Both paan produce spices, gutkha and give it to Nair. It is sold in raw by Nair to Maharashtra, Gujarat and other neighboring states along with MP. Out of hundred rupees, only 20 rupees are traded in number one. The remaining 80% of the business is tax evasion in raw. Nair confesses in a statement that he is a dummy and Wadhwani is behind the scenes, who runs the entire business.
