The political atmosphere in Madhya Pradesh is getting heated due to the by-elections. Prior to the by-election in Sanwer assembly constituency, the Congress had complained about three thousand fake names in the voter list here. Even after the complaint, when the voter list has not been improved, the Congress has now sent a legal notice to the District Election Officer and the officials of the State Election Commission. Significantly, in 2018, Jyotiraditya Scindia, a pro-Tulsiram Silawat MLA, was elected on a Congress ticket from Sanveer Vidhan Sabha. Silvat resigned as MLA in March 2020 after Scindia joined the BJP, after which the seat is vacant and by-elections are to be held.

Recently, the format of the voter list of Saver assembly constituency was published by the District Election Officer. It was also given time to submit claims and objections. After the format of the voter list was published, the Congress conducted a house-to-house survey in the entire area of ??the Sanvar and found that three thousand names in the format of the voter list are fake. These fake names include the names of people who have left the Vis area, or who have died and many names are bogus.

A detailed complaint of all these fake names was made by the Congress to the District Election Officer in due time. According to Premchand Guddu, a possible Congress candidate from Sanwar, the Congress was hopeful that fake names would be removed from the voter list after the complaint, but so far no action was taken by the District Election Officer in this regard. Congress officials say that the by-election date can be announced anytime. And by not removing the fake names included in the voter list, it seems that efforts are being made to win the BJP by holding elections from this voter list under pressure from the government.

Former Additional Advocate General Ravinder Singh Chhabra has sent a notice to Indore District Election Officer, Chief Election Officer of Bhopal as well as Chief Election Commissioner, Delhi on behalf of Indore District President of Congress Sadashiv Yadav. According to Yadav, the notice stated that the objections of the Congress have not yet been resolved. If efforts are made to get a by-election from the defective voter list, then Congress will take legal action.
