Decision on school tuition fees in Madhya Pradesh: Parents and the school management have to present their case till Tuesday

  • | Monday | 5th October, 2020

In Madhya Pradesh, both the parents and the school management have to present their case till Tuesday in the High Court regarding tuition fees.

In Madhya Pradesh, both the parents and the school management have to present their case till Tuesday in the High Court regarding tuition fees. If there is no suggestion from both, then a decision in this matter can come tomorrow. However, the interim order issued on September 1 has been continued till the next hearing. The court has asked all parties to find a middle ground in this case.

In the last hearing it was said

Justice Sanjay Yadav and Justice BK Srivastava had a hearing on 24 September in the High Court in the school fees case. The court had asked all the parties to put forward a proposal in which the interests of all school-related beneficiaries, such as parents, students, teachers / other non-academic staff and school management, are protected.

School operators and teachers also demonstrated

Here, like the parents` union, the school managers and teachers also protested. It was named Education and Teacher Save. A large number of teachers and school directors gathered in Bhopal during the protest. It said that if the parents do not pay the school fees, then how will the school operate. In such a compulsion, the school operators will have to remove the teachers from the job by closing other facilities including online.

Fees can be charged only as per earlier announcement

By March, several schools had announced fees for the session 2020-21. This information was also given to the District Education Officer. Only tuition fees will be charged by the schools. Schools that have not announced fees will charge tuition fees as announced on the previous year. Apart from this, no charges or other charges can be levied.

So parents protest

Parents allege that many schools added year-round fees to tuition fees. School operators are putting pressure on this fee. In this regard, the Department of School Education clearly says that action will be taken against the schools that do so.

The whole matter went like this

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had first issued orders to the private schools to take tuition fees only during the lockdown period. Despite this, many schools were adamant on charging full fees. Some schools had petitioned the High Court Bench in Indore. On which the court gave a stay on the order of the government. Meanwhile, in the case of a school in the Bench of High Court Jabalpur, the High Court has given orders to take only tuition fees, justifying the government`s order. Due to two orders, the matter went to the double bench of the Jabalpur High Court. On this, the court issued orders on September 1 to charge only tuition fees.
