Madhya Pradesh Green fungus patient found in Indore airlifted to Mumbai

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): After black and white fungus green fungus has been diagnosed in a patient in city. This is probably the first case of green fungus in the country. A 34-year-old man who recently survived COVID19 has been diagnosed with green fungus infection. During diagnosis green fungus was detected in his lungs blood and sinuses which is different from mucormycosis or black fungus. This is possibly is the first green fungus case in the country" District Data Manager Health Department Indore Apoorva Tiwari told journalists.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): After black and white fungus green fungus has been diagnosed in a patient in city. This is probably the first case of green fungus in the country. A 34-year-old man who recently survived COVID19 has been diagnosed with green fungus infection. The patient identified as Vishal Shridhar a resident of Manik Bagh Road in Indore was airlifted to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai for treatment. According to information Shridhar who suffered post Covid complications was admitted to Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences. On suspicion that he had contracted mucormycosis infection a test was conducted. The test report revealed that he suffers from green fungus known as aspergillosis. “The patient was undergoing treatment at Aurobindo hospital for the last one-and-a-half months. He had a 90 per cent lung infection. During diagnosis green fungus was detected in his lungs blood and sinuses which is different from mucormycosis or black fungus. This is possibly is the first green fungus case in the country" District Data Manager Health Department Indore Apoorva Tiwari told journalists. She further said that the patient was shifted to Hinduja hospital in Mumbai for further treatment. Head of the Department of Chest Diseases at Aurobindo Medical College Dr Ravi Dosi said the patients had recovered from Covid-19 but he started having nose bleeds and high fever. “He was continuously losing weight. The nature of this fungus infection is different from other patients. More research is needed on this” he told journalists.
