IIT Jodhpur to train students of ITIs in cyber security

Indore: Students of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) of Madhya Pradesh will be imparted training in cyber security by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Jodhpur, a move seen to upskill youths on advanced technology.Madhya Pradesh State Skill Development and Employment Generation Board has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with IIT Jodhpur. The training will be given online to the students of ITIs.As part of the agreement, experts from IIT, Jodhpur will draft short term online training programmes in cyber security.Directorate skill development additional director and additional CEO GN Agrawal said, We have signed an MoU with IIT-Jodhpur for training students on cyber security. We are working on adding value to the courses with the demand from industries. Candidates with knowledge on cyber security and technology related courses are in demand and this will help in bridging the skill gap.The short-term course will be divided into four modules where experts cover different subjects like safety from malware software attack, safety features in funding system software and sessions on forgetting passwords among other topics.The states State Skill Development and Employment Generation Board is exploring options to collaborate with corporates and technology firms to upskill students of ITIs.Agrawal said, We are working on various options and with companies, industries and institutes to upskill candidates and bridge the skill gap. The training will be conducted in hybrid mode, combining online and offline sessions. The training aims to equip employees with skills in retrieving data, preventing cyber hacks, and dealing with data theft. This comes after the UPSRTC e-ticketing system was hacked in April, resulting in customer data being stolen. The training will also cover IT infrastructure applications related to e-ticketing systems and online portals.Up-skilling artisans would make them financially self-reliantUnion Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr Virendra Kumar, launched the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in Indore, stating that upskilling craftsmen and artisans will increase their income and make them financially independent. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance and training to artisans and craftsmen, recognizing their contribution to the Indian economy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously launched the scheme on September 17, with the goal of improving the quality and reach of traditional crafts and integrating them into domestic and global value chains.
