Acid attack on cow, calf in Indore sparks anger

"We will be approach the police on Friday and file an FIR against people who have committed the dastardly act," Jain claimed. As the children caught the calf, the cow fled fearing further attack.Animal rights activist Priyanshu Jain, who took care of the calf, told TOI that the animal was writhing in pain due to the acid thrown on to it by unknown persons. They now plan to take the calf to veterinary hospital for further treatment. INDORE: Unidentified persons threw acid on a cow and its calf in Gulab Bagh colony evoking strong reactions from animal rights activists who are contemplating on filing an FIR with the police against the perpetrators.The incident came to notice in the evening when the calf, with critical burns, was found roaming in the colony by some children. "We tried to locate its mother, but could not do so," she added.People living in the locality claimed that it was a handiwork of some drug and alcohol abusers staying in the slums nearby, Jain said adding, but the claims could not be substantiated.The animal rights activists gave initial treatment to the calf and tried to bring down the pain.
