Indore: RTO authorities have suspended driver's licences of 14 drivers who were caught driving under influence of liquor. Their licences have been suspended for three months."These offenders will not be allowed to drive vehicles during this period and if they are found in violation of the rules, their licences will be permanently cancelled," RTO MP Singh said.The list of offenders included Amit of Aerodrome Road, Pratham of Tukoganj, Ankit of Malharganj, Nihar Sen of Shrinagar, Rajat Chandra of Vijay Nagar, Rajendra of Banganga, Rakesh of Kesrinagar, Anil Singh of Pigdambar, Nikhil of Sajan Nagar, Siddhartha of Janki Nagar, Anurag of Pragati Nagar, Prafulla of Samajwad Nagar, Giriraj of Navlakha Complex and Nikunj of Chhaoni.This is the third time that the transport department has initiated such an action for driving vehicles under the influence.Authorities had earlier cancelled licences of over 300 people who were found driving vehicles drunk. Licences of seven others were also cancelled permanently."Driving under the influence of liquor above the permissible limit is an act which endangers safety of others on city roads. Drunk driving may lead to road accidents," said officials.
