MGM Medical College upgradation work to start in May

Indore: The project implementation unit (PIU) of public works department (PWD) will begin construction work for proposed additional 100 seats in MGM Medical College from May.Earlier an order was issued on March 15 to begin the work, but as the site was not clear, no work could be started. The sheds will also be removed to start the work in next 15 days," said executive engineer K Senani.Senani along with other officials concerned on Friday visited the college campus, where a three story building will be constructed. "We have submitted the fees and have also sought permission from Indore municipal corporation officials for removal of the trees.

The building will have a laboratory, library and lecture and examination hall."The work will be completed in next 30 months. The cost of the entire project is around Rs 105 crore," said Senani.He said that PIU will simultaneously develop six buildings for hostel on the college campus and will also complete the remaining construction work at MTH hospital.Meanwhile, the college administration has started process of filling the posts and purchasing the equipment required for increasing the MBBS seats."Once PIU will hand over the building and we will make all other arrangements we will inform the same to the Medical Council of India (MCI) for its permission to increase 150 MBBS seats to 250," the college vice dean Dr Sanjay Dixit told TOI.
