Indore: Following the incident, district collector P Narahari said on Friday that instructions will be issued to conduct police verifications of employees working in all city-based malls. He added that the shop manager's responsibility in the incident will also be examined.District officials are in the process of trying to ascertain who from the shop is responsible for allowing such an incident to take place."This is a very serious incident. While police have registered a case, we are working to see who is eventually responsible for this," district collector P Narahari told TOI."We will conduct inspections at shopping malls in regular intervals and will also issue instructions to staff members to keep a check on such incidents," the collector added.In a similar incident reported in another shopping mall in the city 9 months ago, the collector had issued instructions under section 144 of CrPC asking the showroom and the shopping mall's management to submit an affidavit to the SDM and local police stations, saying there was no camera or any such electronic device installed in the changing room.This order was the first of its kind issued to ensure privacy and safety of women in shopping malls and other such places. Instructions were also issued to administrative officials to carry out inspections at these places periodically.The fact that this incident took place has exposed district officials' apathy in checking women customers' safety in shopping malls.
